Does Summit Christian Academy promote the University Model as the best approach for all families?
No. We recognize that parents in our community have many outstanding choices for assistance with meeting their
personal educational goals for their children. Additionally, we recognize that children have individual needs
that vary over time and their parents may decide the situation is best addressed by another approach and environment.
We believe and fully respect that each family owns the decision regarding how to best educate their children.
As a result, Summit Christian Academy does not hold to any notion that our approach is the best educational
option for all families or every child within ones family.
Is participation in the enrichment activities required?
No. While we may recommend and believe these activities can be used to greatly enhance learning,
relationship-building, skills and character development in our students, we will respect the unique needs of
each family first and foremost, and will not support or endure any implication that participation is expected,
more spiritual, or required for group acceptance in any manner.
What is your decision making process for determining the cost of items such as books and uniforms?
Summit Christian Academy recognizes the need to keep the financial burden of our families at a minimum, as
affordability is one of our primary goals and benefits for families. We also do a significant amount of research
to help ensure that our families are getting a good value for their dollar without compromising either quality or
compatibility with our core values. Our overall costs are generally in the lower mid range of the spectrum.
We want to be a school that exemplifies excellence in all things to the glory of our Creator. We will select a
uniform provider for example, that has first class embroidery for our name for a few dollars more per item over
a provider that does a lesser job of quality or durability.
Also, because we are a school that integrates a solid Biblical worldview throughout our subjects for example, we
will select a slightly more expensive text that does an excellent job in this regard over a very good text that
is less expensive but does not fit well in a UMS model or compete in the area of emphasizing Christian values and
character.
